Error description

  • Server credentials become missing from a migrated .server
    profile, causing
the server initialization to fail. The problem occurs in this
    scenario:
    - Create a Rational Application Developer V6 workspace and
inserted some credentials into the server
      config.
    - Open the workspace in Rational Application Developer V7
    - The server credentials are not migrated

The actual error message received can be RoleBasedAuth A
SECJ0305I: The role-based authorization check failed.

Local fix

  • Manually migrate the server configuration to Rational
    Application Developer V7.

    ****************************************************************
If a .server file for WebSphere Application Server is
created in Rational Application Developer v6.0 and the
security information is stored in this file then it will be
lost when the .server file is migrated to Rational Application
Developer v7.0. This is happening because .server file is
reconstructed during migration and the security information is
not being copied to the new .server file.

Problem conclusion

  • The security information is now properly copied into the new
.server file when it is migrated into Rational Application
    Developer v7.0.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
the WebSphere Application Server Toolkit fixpack 6.1.1.8 and
